I would like to welcome you to the Sandwich Police Department’s official website.  I hope you find the information contained within this site informative and helpful.  The Sandwich Police Department is dedicated to providing the best possible public safety services to our community.

Sandwich is considered the oldest town on Cape Cod, being incorporated in 1639.  Sandwich is bordered by the towns of Bourne, Mashpee and Barnstable.  It has an area of 44.4 square miles, with a population of approximately 23,000.  There are several major roadways in town to include the Mid-Cape Highway (Route 6), Route 6A and Route 130.  Joint Base Cape Cod is located on the western side of Sandwich.  Throughout the year there are many community, historical and road race events which makes Sandwich a true destination for people to visit.

The Sandwich Police Department is comprised of a truly dedicated group of professional law enforcement officers and support staff.  The department currently has an authorized strength of 35 sworn personnel, 10 Emergency Telecommunicators and 2 civilian employees.  The Patrol Division is the backbone of the Department and responds to numerous calls for service and is the first responder to 911 emergencies.  The Training & Community Services Division is committed to working with our courts, schools and community to enhance public safety within Sandwich.  The Detective Unit investigates major crimes and conducts follow-up investigations of complex cases.  The Joint Dispatch Center manages all emergent and routine calls for service and radio communications for fire and police personnel.

The Department prides itself on its responsiveness to the needs of both our residential and business communities.  Integrity, professionalism and respect are key components of our community policing initiatives.

Please take the time to explore our website and see the many services that we have to offer.  I am always open to comments and suggestions and can be reached at (508) 833-8024 or via email.
