School Resource Officer

Officer in Action    SHS - Toy DriveSandwich Police Department has a significant presence in all public schools within our community.  Our involvement includes teaching within the SHS Criminal Justice Class, chaperoning events, SHS interns program, offering a Junior Police Academy to STEM Academy students, instructing within SHS classes on a visiting basis, partnership with a drunk driving mock crash scene presentation at SHS, speaking at assemblies, providing drug and internet safety education to students and parents, reading to elementary school students, holding a “High 5” welcome day for elementary school students upon arrival at school, “Shop With a Cop” holiday program, elementary school visits to SPD and a “Do The Right Thing” program which recognizes students for positive efforts.
