Joint Communications Center

The Town of Sandwich is implementing a new joint communications center out of the Police Department for both Police and Fire.  9 full-time Emergency Telecommunicators will staff this center 24/7.  During the transitional period, dispatching is occurring at both the Fire and Police Departments until final activation takes place.  It is anticipated that the center will go into full operation in February.

The center will handle all 911 calls, routine calls, radio communications with police and fire personnel, public window at the police station and computer aided dispatch entries.  Emergency dispatching has developed considerably over the recent years.  This new center, with dedicated employees who will specialize in handling routine and emergent communications within Sandwich, will provide a truly professional service to our community.
