On November 1, 2015 at approximately 6:30 pm, Officers from the Sandwich Police Department responded to the intersection of Route 6A and Old County Road for the report of a head on collision.
Upon arrival, Officers observed two vehicles with heavy front end damage. It was learned that a 67 year old male from Sagamore was operating a 2000 Dodge Caravan, travelling West on Route 6A. The operator attempted to pass another vehicle, when he struck a white Hyundai sedan, operated by a 60 year old female from Mineral VA, travelling East on Route 6A.
Based on an investigation the operator of the minivan was issued a criminal application for Operating to Endanger and Failure to keep right up meeting vehicles.
The operator and a passenger from the Hyundai as well as the male operator of the minivan were transported to the Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
