On December 31, 2014 at 1530 hours, Sandwich Police responded to the report of an motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 6A and Spring Hill Road in Sandwich.
A minivan operated by a 53 year old male from Cataumet, MA was travelling West on 6A in a Chrysler mini-van. The vehicle swerved off the roadway and struck a utility pole. The pole was snapped in half at the base. This area of Route 6A was closed to vehicle traffic and a detour was established.
It appears the incident may have been caused by a medical condition. The driver and a male passenger were both transported to Cape Cod Hospital for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
